Young Leaders
We are committed to developing and empowering young people aged 13–17 through targeted life skills and leadership programmes. Our goal is to foster personal growth, self-awareness, and confidence in every teen, helping them build a strong foundation for their future.
Our Emerging Leaders Programme (ELP) has been redesigned for 2025/2026, following feedback from past participants, parents, and youth leaders. It now offers a clearer pathway of progression, fresh volunteering opportunities, and the option for older participants to gain ASDAN-accredited certificates in Peer Mentoring or Leadership.
The programme is delivered across three levels – Bronze, Silver, and Gold – each offering a balance of fun, challenge, and leadership development. Participants grow their skills through a mix of training days, community projects, residential weekends, and a fun graduation celebration. Younger participants focus on building core skills such as teamwork and communication, while older participants gain practical leadership experience, take part in volunteering, and work towards recognised qualifications.
Sessions take place at our King’s Park Centre in Northampton and our ACUK Activity Centres – Pioneer Centre in Shropshire and Whitemoor Lakes in Staffordshire.
One of the most amazing things we see in Emerging Leaders is the way young people connect and grow together – starting as individuals, then developing into strong, supportive teams, and finally stepping out with greater confidence and purpose.
We support every participant throughout the programme, working closely with youth leaders, parents, and carers. And at the heart of it all is fun – ensuring each young person feels included, valued, and able to enjoy the journey.
